「馬の絵を描いて！そうすればあなたが何者なのか教えてあげる」。これがこのモチーフが伝えたいメッセージなのでしょう。エリアス・カフロスは、ガーデニング、楽器、ゲーム、水泳、果ては熱気球と多岐にわたる趣味に興じる、エルメスにとって大切な友人である16頭の馬を詳細に描き出しました。馬の視点で世界を見ることは、驚きと喜びあふれる人生を想像すること。自由を求め次から次へと切り開いていくのです。当然馬に乗りながら！
The story behind
Based on the Chevaloscope scarf design
“Draw me a horse, and I will tell you who you are”, this scarf seems to be saying. In his sketchbook, Elias Kafouros has drawn sixteen horses, associating Hermès’ favorite animal with a variety of leisure activities in great detail, from gardening and musical instruments to games, a swimming pool, and even a hot air balloon! It is a lesson in how to see the world through the prism of the horse and imagine an entirely different, fascinating, and fun way of life that asserts the freedom to chop and change at will. While champing at the bit, naturally!
